D501--Rhetorics of Migration

Rhetorics of Migration is a course being offered in the fall of 2011 in the Masters of Liberal Studies program at Indiana University South Bend. Students in this course will (1) be introduced to the migration narrative genre, (2) be introduced to migration narrative theory, (3) study African American migration to and in Detroit, (4) read several migration narratives, (5) study the invented and/or constructed city (Detroit) as a part of invented and constructed individuals and peoples, and (6) as a final project, write a critical migration narrative.
